Surat: A couple died of electrocution at Gangadhara village in Palsana taluka of Surat district early on Thursday. The woman was electrocuted while collecting clothes hung from a rope for drying. After a while, when her husband tried to save her, he was also electrocuted.They were identified as Vibhuti Patel (29), and her husband, Pratik (32), residents of Amalsadi village. They had come to stay for a few days with Vibhuti’s mother Pushpa Patel (55) at Gangadhara village. Early on Thursday, when Pushpa came home, she saw that Vibhuti was lying on the ground in the open area outside the house. She tried to wake her up, but when she did not react, Pushpa went inside and tried wake up Pratik. Pushpa then noticed an electric cable at the spot and pushed the cable away using a wooden piece. She then took Vibhuti and Pratik to the hospital, where the doctors declared them brought dead.
