The 2024 edition of Cosmoprof India began on December 5 at the Jio World Convention Centre, Mumbai, showcasing India’s booming beauty and personal care industry. With over 700 exhibitors from 22 countries, the event underscored the growing international interest in India’s beauty market, projected to surpass $30 billion in revenue by 2025.
This year’s exhibition featured two segments, Cosmoprof India for finished products and Cosmopack India for supply chain solutions. Notably, 57% of exhibitors are from outside India, with new country pavilions from Australia, Brazil, and Germany, among others.
A key feature of the event is the business matchmaking platform, ‘Cosmoprof India My Match,’ facilitating connections between exhibitors and over 200 buyers from countries including the UK, UAE, Singapore, and Sri Lanka.
Industry leaders emphasized the sector’s growth potential. Yogesh Mudras, managing director of Informa Markets in India, projected the market to reach $34 billion by 2028, driven by increasing demand for premium products. Antonio Bruzzone, CEO of BolognaFiere, noted that India is Asia’s second-fastest-growing beauty market.
Tarun Sharma, co-founder of MCaffeine, highlighted the contrast in per capita spending on beauty products, with India’s $18 far behind global leaders like Hong Kong and the US, indicating room for growth.
