Surat: A 53-year-old police constable died after being hit by an unidentified motorcyclist on the flyover on National Highway 53 at Sachin Crossroads on Monday night.
The victim, Raju Nayka, was posted at Vesu police station and was going to his village in Mahuva taluka on Monday night. He suffered multiple injuries and was shifted to New Civil Hospital (NCH) for treatment but died there.
“There are no CCTV cameras on the bridge and the vehicle that hit him is yet to be identified. We are checking footage from cameras on multiple routes near the accident site,” said a police officer.
CCTV footage from toll plazas and checkpoints on Palsana Road and Maroli Road are being examined.
