Union education minister Dharmendra Pradhan called Congress’ cry for Bhim Rao Ambedkar “crocodile tears” and launched a scathing attack on the oldest party, claiming that from Jawaharlal Nehru to Rahul Gandhi has always hated “Babasaheb.”
In a post on X, the Union minister shared a cartoon claiming that it was of an NCERT book of class 11 published in 2012 showing Pandit Nehru “whipping” Babasaheb Ambedkar, who was sitting on a snail.
Pradhan said, “Suddenly @INCIndia has got a lot of respect for Babasaheb Ambedkar. These crocodile tears of Congress regarding Babasaheb are just a pretense, there is a huge difference between their words and actions. The Congress party’s hatred and contempt for Babasaheb is well known.”
“During the tenure of Congress led UPA-2 government, a shameful cartoon was included in the NCERT Class 11 book in 2012 in which Pandit Nehru was shown whipping Babasaheb Ambedkar ji. – After strong opposition from BJP, the then Human Resource Development Minister Kapil Sibal apologized and announced to withdraw it,” he added.
The union minister further stated that the cartoon must have received the approval of Gandhi family. Calling Congress members “corrupt people,” Pradhan said that who gave themselves ‘Bharat Ratna’ have never given proper respect to Babasaheb and when Prime Minister Narendra Modi gave a grand honor to him, the grand oldest party is unable to digest it.
“The Congress party, which makes political gains in the name of Babasaheb Ambedkar, takes his name only out of compulsion, while the truth is that the entire Congress party, from Jawaharlal Nehru to Rahul Gandhi, has always hated Babasaheb.,” he said in a post on X.
