About the Opportunity
Adalat AI is seeking a Chief of Operations (COO) to lead and scale its court deployment, support,and training operations as we expand our AI-driven solutions across India’s judicial system.
This is a key leadership role focused on hiring, supervising, and managing an on-ground operations team responsible for working directly with courts, judges, court staff, and judicial registries to ensure seamless technology adoption.
The COO will be responsible for developing and overseeing a structured operational framework for training, onboarding, technical troubleshooting, and continuous feedback collection from courts.
The ideal candidate is a strong executor and team builder who can drive complex implementation at scale while ensuring Adalat AI’s mission of timely justice through technology translates into real-world impact.
Roles and Responsibilities
- Hiring & Supervising a National Court Operations Team
- Build and manage an operations team responsible for working with courts, judges, andcourt staff on technology adoption.
- Hire and oversee a ground force responsible for training and onboarding judges and courts on Adalat AI’s tools.
- Work with court registries to recruit, train, and supervise local tech representatives for deployment in remote courts.
- Implement structured performance management and reporting systems for field teams.
- Court Support & Technology Deployment
- Develop and oversee a national implementation roadmap for scaling AI solutions across courts.
- Ensure seamless adoption of AI-powered tools such as real-time transcription and case flow management by courts.
- Manage relationships with High Courts, District Courts, and judicial administrators to drives mooth execution.
- Collaborate withproduct and engineering teams to align court needs with product updates
- Training & Capacity Building for Judges & Court Staff
- Design and oversee training workshops and onboarding programs for judges, stenographers, and court staff.
- Develop training materials tailored to different court roles and regional needs.
- Ensure ground teams provide hands-on technical support to judicial users.
- Organize regular feedback sessions and troubleshooting workshops to address user challenges
- Operations for Troubleshooting, Debugging & Feedback Loops
- Set up and manage an operational system for handling troubleshooting, debugging, and user support requests from judges and courts.
- Establish real-time feedback loops from courts and judicial users to inform product and process improvements.
- Work with the tech team to ensure continuous product iteration based on user experience.
- Data-Driven Operational Efficiency & Scaling
- Develop standardized processes, dashboards, and tracking systems for monitoring deployment efficiency.
- Build an operations model that ensures scalable execution across different states and court types.
- Analyze court usage data to identify areas for improvement and streamline service delivery.
- Internal Organizational Operations & Startup Growth
- Establish structured internal processes for team coordination, reporting, and performance tracking across different functions.
- Optimize workflows between product, engineering, legal, partnerships, and operations teams to improve execution speed.
- Build and manage an operational playbook to support scaling from startup to growth-stage organization.
- Oversee the implementation of internal tools, HR systems, and knowledge management frameworks to improve efficiency.
- Financial Planning & Resource Optimization
- Work closely with the Finance Lead to manage budgets, control operational costs, and ensure financial sustainability.
- Develop resource allocation strategies to ensure the most efficient use of funds for court deployments and training programs.
- Support fundraising and grant reporting by providing operational insights and impact metrics.
- Monitor compliance with contracts, government regulations, and procurement policies
Eligibility Criteria
- 7+ years of experience in operations management, strategy execution, or government project implementation.
- Proven experience in scaling large-scale field operations (preferably in legal, gov-tech, or operations-heavy projects).
- Strong ability to hire, train, and manage geographically distributed teams.
- Experience working with government agencies, courts, or judicial institutions is highly desirable.
- Excellent ability to coordinate between product, technology, and legal teams for execution.
- Strong problem-solving and process-optimization skills.
- Experience in startup operations, organizational scaling, and cross-functional management is a plus.
