As rumours swirl and misinformation spreads, the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has urged students and parents to remain cautious and rely only on official channels for updates on the 2025 Class 10 and 12 board results.

A fake letter dated May 2, widely circulated on social media, falsely claims that the Class 10 results will be announced on May 6 at 11 am. The letter includes detailed instructions on how to access the results and what to expect on the mark sheets, further fuelling confusion among students and parents.

Taking to the microblogging platform X (formerly Twitter), the CBSE clarified that no official announcement has been made yet. “We urge students, parents, and stakeholders to avoid sharing unverified news and to rely only on official sources for updates,” the board said, directing users to check cbse.gov.in

for authenticated information.

This year, more than 42 lakh students took the CBSE board exams — over 24.12 lakh in Class 10 and 17.88 lakh in Class 12. The exams were held at 7,842 centres across India and in 26 countries overseas. The Class 10 exams concluded on March 18, while Class 12 exams ended on April 4.

While the CBSE is yet to issue a confirmed date for result declarations, officials have indicated that the results are likely to be released in the second week of May, based on previous years’ timelines. Once declared, results will be available on the following official websites:

  • cbse.gov.in
  • cbseresults.nic.in
  • results.digilocker.gov.in
  • umang.gov.in

Students are advised to stay vigilant and avoid falling for fake circulars or unofficial updates circulating online.
