About the Journal:
The NLIU Law Review is a double-blind, peer-reviewed law journal published bi-annually by the National Law Institute University (NLIU), Bhopal. The journal invites submissions for Volume XV, Issue II, continuing its mission to promote high-quality legal scholarship and critical analysis of contemporary legal issues.
Parameters for Evaluation:
Submissions will be assessed on the following criteria:
- Grammar/Language: Academic style, free from errors, crisp and concise.
- Structure/Logical Coherence: Clear arrangement, addressing a legal question or hypothesis with conclusive analysis.
- Contribution to Literature: Must add original insights beyond restating existing laws or facts.
- Contemporary Relevance: Should highlight recent developments and explain their present-day importance.
- Referencing & Research: Based on in-depth research, with proper citations in the prescribed format.
Submission Guidelines:
Criteria: Language, structure, originality, relevance, and research quality.
Style Guidelines:
- Font: Times New Roman
- Text Size: 12
- Line Spacing: 1.15
- Alignment: Justified
Citation Standards:
- OSCOLA (4th ed., 2012) citation format.
- Only footnotes allowed; substantive footnoting discouraged.
General Guidelines:
- Maximum of two authors per manuscript.
- Abstract: 250–300 words.
- Submissions only via the electronic form on the official website.
- Format: Microsoft Word (.docx).
- Manuscript must not contain author-identifying information.
Types of Submissions:
- Articles: 4,000–10,000 words
- Case Notes: 2,000–5,000 words
- Legislative Comments: 1,000–3,000 words
- Book Reviews: 1,000–3,000 words
Word limits exclude abstract and footnotes.
Key Notes:
- Manuscripts must be original and unpublished.
- Submissions undergo a rigorous review process.
- The journal emphasizes novel contributions and contemporary relevance.
