Sandeep Reddy Vanga‘s movie ‘Animal‘ starring Ranbir Kapoor completed one year recently. Bobby Deol, who played the role of Abrar in the movie, recently opened up about the inspiration behind his viral Jamal Kudu dance step.
At the SCREEN LIVE event, Bobby shared a memorable experience from filming a sequence. He recalled that when the scene was explained to him, he was asked to dance at his wedding. Initially hesitant about dancing with a choreographer, he decided to dance on his own.
However, the director pointed out that he wanted the character to look like Abrar, not Bobby Deol. Unsure of what to do next, Bobby turned to Saurabh Sachdeva, his on-screen brother, for advice. Saurabh’s dance inspired Bobby, and suddenly, memories from various times started flooding his mind.
Bobby also shared a personal memory from his childhood, when he would visit Punjab during summer and winter holidays. He recalled that the men would drink at night, and when music played, they would dance with glasses and bottles on their heads. Inspired by this, Bobby decided to try it himself, not realizing that his unique dancing style would become so popular. To his surprise, after he performed the dance with a glass on his head, it went viral. He found the whole experience amazing.
The film also starred Rashmika Mandanna, Anil Kapoor, Triptii Dimri and others in pivotal roles.
