The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) has strongly criticised the BJP for attempting to create division among people during festivals. Senior AAP leader and MP Sanjay Singh called out the BJP for deliberately inciting tensions before every festival. He said the party has turned Holi, Diwali, and Eid into occasions of controversy, making it increasingly difficult for people to celebrate in peace.

On the controversy surrounding the UP government covering Sambhal’s Jama Masjid during Holi, Sanjay Singh dismissed the need to sensationalise the issue nationwide. He stated, “If both communities are sitting together to find a solution, they should be allowed to do so. Why does the BJP want to turn this into such a big issue? Festivals like Holi, Diwali, and Eid have now become occasions of controversy every year.”

Criticising the BJP’s approach, Sanjay Singh called out the party for ruining the country’s social fabric. “People can no longer celebrate festivals peacefully. A week before every festival, the media and administration start spreading hatred. Should people focus on celebrating their festivals or get caught up in the BJP’s daily drama? The BJP deliberately worsens the atmosphere before every festival. This is a serious crime. Their leaders are obsessed with spreading hate day and night.”

On the issue of delimitation, the AAP MP reaffirmed AAP’s support for the southern states, stating that no state should face discrimination. “Even Punjab’s percentage is being reduced. It is a full-fledged state with an AAP government, yet its parliamentary representation is being reduced. While some seats will increase, when the total reaches 850, Punjab’s representation percentage will decrease. The BJP thinks they are the smartest. They believe they can increase seats in states where they are strong, ensuring that their ‘Vishwaguru’ remains Prime Minister for life. But we will not let the BJP get away with this.”

Sanjay Singh demanded that the BJP include the complete history of its own organisation, the RSS, in school curricula. “BJP should teach children about what the RSS did during India’s independence movement. Every child in this country should know the history of the RSS.”

He continued, “It opposed the Indian tricolour and did not hoist it at its Nagpur headquarters for 52 years. In 1942, Shyama Prasad Mukherjee wrote to the British Governor, urging him to crush the freedom movement. The RSS betrayed our revolutionaries—this history is not too old to be forgotten. It must be taught so that people understand which party they are supporting.”

Sanjay Singh further highlighted the BJP’s historical contradictions. “Jinnah divided the country, but it was the BJP’s ideological forefathers who formed governments with Jinnah’s Muslim League in Sindh, the North-West Frontier Province, and Bengal. Shyama Prasad Mukherjee was the Deputy Chief Minister in Fazlul Haq’s government. After Partition, Fazlul Haq became Pakistan’s Home Minister. Should Indians be taking lessons in nationalism from such people? Are Narendra Modi and Yogi Adityanath’s party going to teach us patriotism?”
