Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s ‘jumla’ guarantee of ‘Jahan jhuggi, wahan makaan’ lies in ruins—so the BJP has launched a witch-hunt to divert attention. After ten years of ED-CBI raids that couldn’t recover a single rupee from Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) leaders, it’s now ACB’s turn in this desperate political theatre. As bulldozers roll, nearly one lakh poor residents have already been left homeless—fear grips every jhuggi in Delhi.
Addressing a press conference, AAP National Media In-charge Anurag Dhanda said the world now acknowledges that the AAP government built outstanding government schools during its ten-year rule in Delhi. “Everyone knows this. We don’t need to present facts anymore; it is a well-established truth across the globe that AAP built remarkable schools in its ten years of governance. No fake FIR or fabricated case can change that reality,” he said.
Pointing to BJP’s continued targeting of AAP leaders, Anurag Dhanda said, “Even after deploying ED, CBI, and other central agencies against AAP leaders, when the BJP couldn’t find anything, it has now unleashed the ACB. The ED and CBI were given a free hand for ten years, and they couldn’t recover even a single rupee from any AAP leader. So what does the BJP expect the ACB to find? Despite knowing this, they are still putting on this entire drama.”
Raising questions on BJP’s intentions, he added, “What exactly is BJP trying to prove with this charade? The fact remains unchanged—AAP built great schools in Delhi. When the ED and CBI couldn’t prove anything, what can the ACB possibly do? Today, all of Delhi is asking why the BJP is staging this farce.”
Exposing the possible motive, the AAP National Media In-charge said, “This is nothing but an attempt to cover up the sin of demolishing thousands of jhuggis in Delhi. The BJP is filing fake cases against those who built schools, just to divert attention. That’s the real story behind this ongoing drama. Today, Delhi’s air carries the cries of the poor. Across the city, families are devastated, either because their homes have been destroyed or are about to be. The BJP is snatching away their shelter.”
Giving details of the demolitions, he shared, “On 1st June, 400 to 500 jhuggis were demolished in Madrasi Camp, Jangpura. Between 6th and 10th June, 1,500 to 2,000 jhuggis were razed in Bhumiheen Camp. On 16th June, another 400 to 500 in Wazirpur, 1,500 to 2,000 in Jailerwala Bagh of Ashok Vihar, and 100 to 200 in Loni Road were destroyed. According to estimates, the BJP has already demolished nearly 10,000 jhuggis in Delhi, rendering between 80,000 and 1 lakh people homeless. These people are now forced to live on the streets.”
Calling out the motive behind the crackdown, Anurag Dhanda said, “This fake case is being cooked up to suppress the chaos caused by the BJP and prevent any discussion on it. We’ve come to know that a list has leaked from the BJP’s office. This list outlines the party’s plan to demolish jhuggis in specific Vidhan Sabhas, and it is now going viral.”
“It clearly shows that the BJP has a well-thought-out plan to make it impossible for poor people to survive in Delhi. To silence any conversation on the plight of jhuggi dwellers, they are fabricating cases. What exactly will the ACB probe about the construction of school classrooms for children? BJP controlled agencies have been interrogating AAP leaders for ten years, and they’ve found nothing—what do they expect to find now,” he asked.
Reminding the public of BJP’s broken promises, Anurag Dhanda said, “During the Delhi elections, Prime Minister Narendra Modi had guaranteed that not a single jhuggi would be demolished and residents would benefit from ‘Jahan jhuggi, wahan makaan’. That, too, has turned out to be a fake guarantee—just like the promises of giving women Rs 2,500 per month and ensuring 24-hour electricity. This fake investigation is nothing but a distraction from BJP’s broken guarantees. This is a completely baseless case, with no merit or scope of corruption whatsoever.”
Concluding, the AAP National Media In-charge added, “What bothers the BJP the most is that good classrooms and infrastructure were built in government schools for poor children. The BJP is trying to kill two birds with one stone—first, reverse the transformation of government schools so everything is handed over to private education mafias, and second, divert attention from PM Modi’s fake jhuggi guarantee.”
