BJP meets RWAs to get suggestions for manifesto

New Delhi: BJP’s Delhi unit on Thursday started meetings with RWAs to understand the requirements, challenges and difficulties faced by residents across Delhi ahead of the Assembly elections.
The daylong discussion was for gathering inputs from RWAs at the NDMC convention hall. The party plans to incorporate all these suggestions in its manifesto.
Manifesto committee convener and South Delhi MP Ramvir Singh Bidhuri said living in several parts of Delhi was hell. People were forced to live in slums. “The world’s most polluted capital with dirty water, overflowing sewers, dilapidated roads, poor public transport, no new college and in the midst of poor health services, no implementing the Ayushman Bharat scheme. It is injustice to the people,” he said.
He said that if BJP comes to power, 200 units of free electricity, 20,000 litres of free water, and a free bus travel scheme will remain in force. He added that people expressed anger on the poor quality of water, encroachments and road condition.
Virendra Sachdeva said RWAs have played a significant role in shaping Delhi. He said AAP govt has deceived the public in the name of development. “The air is toxic, yet govt has failed to act. We are working on a vision not just for 2025 but 2050,” he said.
