Bank holidays next week: Check state-wise list for bank closures between March 16 and 21

As the third week of March 2026 approaches, banking customers across India should plan their visits considering public holidays.

The banks are scheduled to remain shut for four days between March 16 and March 21

These closures are primarily driven by a cluster of major religious and cultural festivals, including Shab-I-Qadr, Gudhi Padwa, Ugadi and Eid al-Fitr.

Because banking holidays in India are governed by both the central government and state authorities, the specific dates of closure vary significantly from state to state.

To avoid any last-minute hurdles with physical documentation, cheque clearances, or in-person consultations, it is vital to consult the state-wise holiday list issued by the Reserve Bank of India (RBI).

Although physical branches will be inaccessible on these specific dates, online banking and digital payments remain operational throughout the holidays.
