In an unexpected cultural crossover no one saw coming, King Charles and Queen Camilla were greeted by the iconic Bollywood track ‘Dhoom Machale‘ as they arrived at Westminster Abbey for the annual Commonwealth Day service.
The performance was delivered by the Shree Muktajeevan Swamibapa Pipe Band, a Hindu Scottish pipe band, creating a moment that left Bollywood fans rather amused. The unusual musical choice initially went unnoticed until the band shared the video on their official social media page. The clip quickly went viral, drawing a flood of reactions from desi fans who were surprised to hear the hit tunes from the 2004 film ‘Dhoom’—famously associated with Bollywood superstar Hrithik Roshan.
Social media was soon buzzing with jokes and playful speculation. One user quipped, “Plot twist: The King is Hrithik Roshan in disguise.” Another joked, “That’s clearly Hrithik Roshan disguised as Camilla.” Referencing a famous scene from Dhoom 2, where Roshan’s master-of-disguise character impersonates Queen Elizabeth II, one fan wrote, “I thought Camilla would take off the mask to reveal Hrithik Roshan.”
Others humorously speculated about a new sequel in the popular Dhoom franchise. “Leaked footage from Dhoom 4,” wrote one user, while another added, “Hrithik is coming for the Kohinoor.”
The buzz around Dhoom was reignited recently with rumours of Dhoom 4 in the works. Reports suggest that actor Ranbir Kapoor may lead the next instalment of the action-packed franchise. While Kapoor is currently busy filming Sanjay Leela Bhansali‘s Love and War in Mumbai, he is expected to begin shooting for Dhoom 4 in April next year. However, an official announcement on the same is still awaited.
