After complaint from locals over multi-colour paint on road divider at Khar on Linking Road, authorities intiated work to undo it. Anandini Thakoor, managing trustee of Khar Residents Association, was among those who objected to the bright paint colours on the 20-30 metre stretch, which was done overnight, and called it “garish and distracting”. “The sudden change was unnecessary and could be unsafe for drivers,” said a resident.
Rishi Aggarwal, founder of pedestrian advocacy group, Walking Project, said, “They should instead use paint for zebra crossings, which are faded or absent on most junctions.”
