NAGPUR: Maharashtra chief minister Devendra Fadnavis said artificial intelligence is being used to search for those accused in the murder of Beed district’s village Sarpanch, Santosh Deshmukh.
Fadnavis made the statement in the Legislative Council on Monday while replying to a question by LoP Ambadas Danve.
Danve said, “The Sarpanch was first abducted and then hours later his body was found. There are photos of cops having tea with the accused. Also, one of the accused is known to be close to a minister from Beed.”
Fadnavis said accusing any minister in such a serious case, without evidence, is unwarranted. He also said that police are doing their best to arrest all accused.
Fadnavis said, “We have arrested three people in the case and the search is on for the absconding ones. Police are also using artificial intelligence in the investigation. The case has been transferred to the state CID.”
He added that the govt has already started cracking down within the system for lapses. Fadnavis said, “The PSI at the police station has been suspended.”
Fadnavis added, “But LoP must not connect any accused with a political party or religion. Rest assured, we will not spare the guilty. This is the Upper House, and when we make allegations here that the accused is connected with some minister, even though there is no relation, such accusations malign the image of the minister for no reason.”
