The film in India has already become the third biggest hit of Indian Cinema, with the record collection of Rs 824.5 crore, and within touching distance of Rs 500 crore in Hindi market. The film is also doing brisk business in North America ( The United States of America and Canada market), and has made a smash entry in the Top 10 list of biggest hits of Indian Cinema in the circuit.
A couple of days ago, Pushpa 2 crossed the US $ 10 million mark, thus reaching the 10th spot displacing Ranveer Singh and Alia Bhatt’s Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani for the 10th position. But by Saturday evening, the film jumped two positions to displace Ranveer and Deepika Padukone’s Padmaavat from the eight position. Pushpa 2’s total collection currently stands at US $ 12.27 million, while Padmaavat’s total collection in the circuit was US $ 12.15 million. The 9th day collection of Pushpa 2 stands at US $ 652K .
Pushpa 2’s breakeven point has been pegged at US $ 15 million, and on a closer look, the journey for the film seems difficult. The film’s collection has been dropping at a fast pace, and more than Telugu, it is the Hindi version that has been driving the numbers. Also its is being murmured that the ticket prices for the Hindi version would be reduced in the coming days, to make sure more number of people would watch the film on the big screen. Now only time will tell if the film will be able to cross the US $ 15 million mark, and turn profitable for everyone involved or not.
