In addition to his cinematic achievements, Bollywood’s Khiladi Kumar aka Akshay Kumar stays in the limelight for his philanthropic endeavors. A glimpse of the same can be seen in his latest Instagram post, where the actor shares he fed over 1,250 monkeys in Ayodhya with the help of his team and Anjaneya Seva Trust.
With his social media post, the actor tried to highlight the issue of the monkey’s increasing population in the holy city of Ayodhya. The video shared by him shows several monkeys wandering around temples and surrounding areas.
Thus, with the help of Anjaneya Seva Trust, the actor took the initiative of feeding the monkeys in Ayodhya. He mentioned that his intention behind the initiative is to provide clean and nutritious food daily to the monkeys. For the same, Akshay and the team brought a van with a trunk full of bananas. The team made sure to collect the discarded peels after the monkeys ate to ensure proper hygiene. The peels are then fed to the cows, and then their dung is used as manure to plant banana trees.
With this initiative, Akshay Kumar paid tribute to his parents and father-in-law, Rajesh Khanna, by having their names written on the feeding van. The actor called his initiative ‘chhoti si koshish (a small effort)’ while sharing the video on Instagram. Further, for the unversed, earlier this year, Akshay donated Rs 1 crore to feed the monkeys in Ayodhya, his team mentioned.
This initiative is spearheaded by the Anjaneya Sewa Trust, under the guidance of Jagatguru Swami Raghavacharya Ji Maharaj. According to an ANI report, the founder-trustee of Anjaneya Sewa Trust, Priya Gupta, has mentioned they it will be sure that people don’t face any inconvenience owing to this initiative.
On the professional front, Akshay Kumar was last seen in Rohit Shetty’s ‘Singham Again.’ The cop drama also had Ajay Devgn, Ranveer Singh, and Kareena Kapoor Khan among others. Arjun Kapoor played the antagonist in the film. Currently, he is shooting several projects including ‘Sky Force,’ ‘Shankara,’ ‘Jolly LLB 3,’ and more.
