Post Graduate Insolvency Programme
The Post Graduate Insolvency Programme (PGIP) at National Law University Delhi (NLUD) is a first-of-its-kind interdisciplinary postgraduate programme focused on insolvency, corporate rescue, restructuring, and liquidation. Launched in partnership with the Insolvency and Bankruptcy Board of India (IBBI), the programme is designed to develop skilled insolvency professionals with strong legal, financial, and commercial expertise.
The two-year programme comprises one year of residential academic training at NLUD followed by one year of professional traineeship, combining rigorous academic learning with practical exposure to insolvency and restructuring practice. Participants receive an IBBI-authorised PGIP Certification along with a separate MA / LL.M. degree in Insolvency awarded by NLUD.
The programme offers an interdisciplinary curriculum covering law, finance, economics, and insolvency regulation, delivered through practice-oriented pedagogy with case-based learning and real-world application. Designed for candidates from diverse professional backgrounds—including law graduates, chartered accountants, company secretaries, economists, engineers, and management professionals—the programme provides an academic pathway to insolvency practice that reduces the professional experience requirement under the IBC from 10–15 years to 2 years, as per applicable regulations.
Eligibility
Candidates who have completed a professional or academic qualification such as:
- Law (LL.B.)
- Chartered Accountancy (CA)
- Company Secretary (CS)
- Cost Accountancy
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or Technology
- Postgraduate degree in Economics, Finance, Commerce, Management or Insolvency with minimum 50% marks.
Mode of Course
Two-year programme comprising:
- One year of offline residential academic training, followed by
- One year of professional traineeship.

WIPO-NLUD-IPO Joint Masters / LL.M. Programme in Intellectual Property Law & Management
The Joint Masters / LL.M. Programme in Intellectual Property Law & Management (JML) is a flagship programme offered by National Law University Delhi (NLUD) in collaboration with the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO) and the Office of the Controller General of Patents, Designs & Trade Marks / Indian Intellectual Property Office (IPO). The programme is designed to provide advanced academic training and practical insight into the evolving global landscape of intellectual property law and innovation management.
The programme is delivered through a unique dual-track structure, offering both a Master of Laws (LL.M.) and a Master of Arts (M.A.), thereby enabling participation from candidates with both legal and non-legal backgrounds.
Grounded in the multidisciplinary integration of intellectual property law and management, the programme provides extensive exposure to global best practices in intellectual property law, policy, and practice. With a strong emphasis on elective and skill-based courses, the programme allows candidates to develop specialized career pathways, gain practical training, and engage with industry and policy institutions.
The third cohort of the programme will run from August 2026 to June 2027.
Eligibility
Candidates must meet the eligibility criteria prescribed by NLUD for admission to the programme.
- For LL.M. track: LL.B. or equivalent law degree from a recognized university with at least 50% marks (45% for reserved categories).
- For M.A. track: Candidates with relevant undergraduate degrees meeting NLUD’s eligibility requirements may apply.
Mode of Course
Full-time, offline course.

Ph.D. Programmes
NLU Delhi offers Ph.D. programmes in Law and Social Sciences for candidates interested in advanced academic research.
The programme encourages rigorous interdisciplinary scholarship and aims to produce high-quality research that contributes to legal theory, policy development, and institutional reform.

- Ph.D. in Law
- LL.M. or equivalent law degree with minimum 55% marks (50% for reserved categories).
- Ph.D. in Social Sciences
- Master’s degree in relevant disciplines such as:
- Political Science
- Sociology
- Criminology
- Economics
- English
with minimum 55% marks (50% for reserved categories).
Mode of Course
Full-time doctoral research programme.
About the Trainers/Faculty
Candidates undertake research under the supervision of NLUD’s faculty members and research scholars across law and social science disciplines.
