Aamir Khan who is back to his first love – ‘movies’ after taking a break for around a year post the release of ‘Laal Singh Chaddha’ has always said that ‘Mahabharata’ is his dream project. While we’ve seen many television shows being made on it, Aamir wanted to make this huge budget movie on this epic saga. In a recent interview, he has revealed that this is still his dream project.
Aamir has been working on ‘Sitaare Zameen Par‘. He said that the film has been wrapped up and the post-production is on. In an interview with BBC, he spoke about ‘Mahabharata’ and confessed, “Well, that’s my dream project and it’s a very scary project. So huge and I am scared of getting it wrong. It’s a huge responsibility because as Indians, it’s something so close to us, it’s in our blood. So I want to get it right. I want to make every Indian proud. I also want to show the world what India has. I don’t know if it will happen, but it’s something I want to work towards. So let’s see.”
The actor has also started producing more films after his break, starting with ‘Laapataa Ladies’. He admitted that it’s a conscious effort and said, “I really want to produce a lot more films and give an opportunity to young talent. I’ll continue acting. I usually do 1 film in 2-3 years as an actor but in the next decade or so, I am hoping to do one film a year. I hope to produce a lot more films with the stories that I love.”
Recently in an interview, Kareena Kapoor Khan revealed that Aamir was shattered after ‘Laal Singh Chaddha’ failed at the box office. Kareena said that Aamir asked her if she will still talk to him, which left her shocked. The actress said she’s very proud of ‘Laal Singh Chaddha’ and feels grateful that Aamir gave her a character like Rupa.
