National Law University Delhi proudly hosted the Deeksharambh 2026 – Student Induction Programme for the 19th batch of the B.A. LL.B. (Hons.) programme on Sunday, 19th July 2026 at the University Auditorium.
The newly admitted students were warmly welcomed by the Vice Chancellor, Prof. (Dr.) G.S. Bajpai, along with members of the University leadership and faculty.
The ceremony commenced with the Lighting of the Lamp and the National Anthem, followed by a Welcome Address delivered by the Vice Chancellor, Prof. (Dr.) G.S. Bajpai.
The University was honoured to host distinguished dignitaries for this significant occasion. Hon’ble Justice Rajendra Menon, Chairperson, Armed Forces Tribunal and Former Chief Justice, Delhi High Court, graced the event as the Guest of Honour, sharing valuable reflections with the new cohort. The Chief Guest, Hon’ble Justice M.M. Sundresh, Judge, Supreme Court of India, addressed the gathering, offering insightful perspectives on law, justice, and the responsibilities that lie ahead for aspiring legal professionals.
As part of the programme, the All India Rank 1 holder of AILET 2026 was awarded a scholarship, while several other meritorious students were felicitated for their exceptional academic achievements and successful admission to National Law University Delhi.
The programme concluded with the Vote of Thanks delivered by Prof. (Dr.) Risham Garg, Registrar, NLU Delhi.
The programme continued with orientation sessions on institutional policies and academic frameworks. Faculty members engaged with students through a series of informative sessions, including an introduction to academic programmes, rules and regulations by Prof. (Dr.) Anju Tyagi; examination rules and regulations by Prof. (Dr.) Ritu Sharma; and Hostel rules and regulations by Prof. (Dr.) Niraj Kumar. The sessions also included a briefing on Nasha Mukti Abhiyaan & NCORD by Prof. (Dr.) Maheshwar Singh, reinforcing the University’s commitment to student well-being and responsible campus life.
Deeksharambh 2026 was thoughtfully designed to familiarise students with the academic ethos, institutional framework, and community life at NLU Delhi, marking the beginning of a transformative and intellectually enriching journey.
