    About the Competition

    Artificial Intelligence is reshaping the legal profession, transforming legal research, drafting, dispute resolution, and access to justice. As technology continues to evolve, it raises important questions about ethics, regulation, and the future of legal practice.

    The Article Writing Competition on “AI and the Future of Law” aims to foster critical thinking and meaningful discussion on the opportunities and challenges that AI presents for the legal ecosystem.

    Eligibility

    • Law students (both undergraduate and postgraduate) 
    • Research Scholars
    • Legal Professionals
    • Academicians
    • Co-authorship is not allowed.

    Submission Guidelines

    • The Written Submission will be uploaded through a Google Form that will be shared with you after you register for the Competition.
    • The electronic copies must be submitted in PDF format only.
    • The Abstract should be limited to 200-250 words only.
    • No abstract submission shall be accepted after 23:59 hours on July 19th, 2026.
    • The font should be Times New Roman, Size 12, and line spacing should be 1.5, Alignment justified. 
    • Citation Style: 4th Edition of OSCOLA or 21st Edition of Bluebook.
    • Plagiarism should not exceed 10%, and participants should make sure that the usage of AI is limited to a 10%.
    • The word limit should be 1000-1200 words.
    • Kindly mention your Name, College/Organisation as a footnote in the Abstract Page.
    • Articles submitted to this competition must not be simultaneously submitted to any other competition, blog, journal, or publication.

    Rewards & Recognition

    • Winners: Rs. 1500
    • Runner-Up: Rs. 1000
    • Second Runner-Up: Rs. 500
    • Access to the Nyayassist AI tool for 2 Months (worth ₹4000) for top 3 winners.
    • Publication of the top three winning articles in the Indic Pacific Journal. Exceptional entries beyond the winning submissions may also be selected for publication.
    • 1 Year ISAIL Membership to the Winners (worth ₹2,000)
    • All the Participants who have registered themselves will be awarded a Certificate of Participation.
    • Premium workshop/course access from Legalwiki for the top three winners (worth ₹3,000).

    Important Dates

    • Last Date of Registration: July 16th, 2026
    • Last Date for Abstract Submission: July 19th, 2026
    • Last Date for Article Submission: August 15th, 2026
    • Result Declaration: August 30th, 2026

    Theme

    Participants are requested to write on any topic that substantially deals with the theme AI and the Future of Law. 

    Submissions that fall outside the ambit of the theme will not be considered.
