ORDER
The Contempt Petition is filed complaining willful disobedience of the
order dated 05.02.2025 made in W.P.No.3696 of 2025.
2. The Writ Petition was disposed of with a direction to the petitioner to
make an online application in the TANGEDCO portal and on receipt of the

application, the 3rd respondent was directed to immediately attend the complaint
and make such alternative arrangements with reference to the said pillar box.
3. When the matter came up for hearing today, the learned counsel
appearing on behalf of the respondent submitted that the application was
attended to and the petitioner was intimated by a communication dated
17.06.2026 directing payment of Rs.40,509/-, being the shifting charges. The
learned counsel for the respondent would submit that in the cases of the instant
nature, this Court in W.P.No.11734 of 2020 has held that no shifting charges
should be collected. Be that as it may, this Court has not specifically dealt with
about the shifting charges.
4. In view thereof, I do not see any willful disobedience of the order. If
the petitioner is aggrieved by the request made for paying the shifting charges, it
will be open for him to challenge the said proceedings. A copy of the said
estimate dated 17.06.2026 is furnished to the petitioner. With the liberty kept
open to the petitioner, the Contempt Petition stands closed.
