Inspector of Police, Central CEN Crime Police
Station has filed charge sheet against the accused
above named for the offence punishable under
Sec.66(C), 66(D) of Information Technology Act and
Sec.419, 420 of IPC.
2. The brief facts of the prosecution are as
follows;
The complainant is the representative Imagine
Marketing Ltd., Company which produces the
electronic and lifestyle products in the brand name
as “boAt”. It is stated that the company has
received seven complaints from the customers
through official mail i.e,
info@imaginemarketingindiacompany.com and
social medial platform that the customers were
asked to pay courier charges for the products
sought for replacement. It is further stated that the
company follows ‘free door to door policy’ to all the
products which are under warrantee, in case of
replacement. It is further stated that the
customers of the company have received the
unauthorised demand through misleading email
address boat.india.lifestyle@gmail.com. It is further
stated that on 13-12-2022, the first complaint was
raised by one Vaibhav Kumar regarding raising of
unauthorised demands. Thereafter, the similar
complaints were raised and one of the customer by
name Mr.Bittu Kumar Mallik has complained that
he was deceived, cheated and dishonestly
induced to make payment of Rs.164/-
