About the Organiser

The Moot Court Society, Ajmal Law College, Hojai, is organizing the 1st Ajmal National Moot Court Competition – 2026. Established in 2024, the Society is dedicated to promoting experiential legal education by developing students’ skills in advocacy, legal research, memorial drafting, analytical reasoning, and courtroom etiquette through moot court exercises, workshops, and competitions.

About the Competition

The 1st Ajmal National Moot Court Competition – 2026 is a prestigious National-Level Moot Court Competition aimed at fostering legal scholarship and advocacy among law students across India. The competition offers participants an opportunity to argue a contemporary constitutional law problem before eminent academicians, legal practitioners, and judges.

The competition is designed to strengthen participants’ abilities in legal research, memorial drafting, oral advocacy, critical analysis, and courtroom professionalism while encouraging academic interaction and healthy competition among law schools and universities.

Eligibility

The competition is open to students pursuing:

  • Three-Year LL.B. Programme; or
  • Five-Year Integrated LL.B. Programme

A maximum of two teams from each institution may participate.

Each team shall comprise:

  • Two Speakers; and
  • One Researcher.

A team consisting of only two members shall designate both members as Speakers.

  • Inaugural Ceremony & Preliminary Rounds: 29th August 2026
  • Quarter-finals, Semi-finals, Final Round & Valedictory Ceremony: 30th August 2026

Fee

The registration fee is:

  • ₹2,000 per Team (Without Accommodation)
  • ₹4,000 per Team (With Accommodation)

The accommodation package includes meals as specified by the Organising Committee.

The competition offers prizes worth over ₹4 Lakhs, including cash awards, trophies, certificates, and exclusive academic benefits sponsored by our Knowledge and Legal Tech Partners.
