To improve access to justice for undertrial prisoners by ensuring timely legal representation, bail support, counselling, documentation assistance, and systemic coordination with prison authorities and legal services institutions.

About the Programme
Indian Law Society (ILS), Pune, invites applications from committed professionals for engagement in two newly launched, Azim Premji Foundation–supported programmes aimed at strengthening access to justice and improving the quality of legal representation for marginalized communities in Maharashtra.
These are full-time, project-based positions for a period from April 2026 till December 2028.
Positions Available
- Senior Legal Fellows – 1 Post (Salary 45000-50000)
- Junior Legal Fellows- 1 Post (Salary 35000-40000)
The location for both is Kolhapur, Maharashtra.
Eligibility
For Senior legal fellows:
- Graduate / Post graduate in law
- 5 years and above of trial court experience, preferably in criminal law
- Strong drafting, case analysis, and communication skills
- Willingness to work in custodial settings
For Junior legal fellows:
- Graduate / Post graduate in law
- 2–5 years of trial court experience, preferably in criminal law
- Strong drafting, case analysis, and communication skills
- Willingness to work in custodial settings
Nature of Appointment
- Full-time, project-based contractual positions
- Initial appointment for one year, renewable annually based on performance and project requirements
