How did you apply?
I have filled out the application form for this internship.
First-Day Formalities, Infrastructure, and First Impression
Interns are typically required to provide identity proof (e.g., Aadhaar card, passport) and academic credentials. These documents are verified by the court’s administrative staff.
Interns are then issued an access pass or ID badge that grants entry to the court premises. This pass is essential for security purposes and must be worn visibly at all times.
Main Tasks
Assisted judges and legal clerks in drafting legal opinions and judgments, conducted extensive legal research on various issues and case precedents, and helped review and summarize legal documents and case files.
Also attended court hearings and took notes on case progress and judicial decisions.
Work Environment
Interns interact with a diverse group of legal professionals, including judges, lawyers, and court staff. Collaboration is common, especially while preparing case documents or attending court hearings.
There is usually a strong focus on mentorship, with interns receiving guidance and feedback from their supervising attorneys or judges, who help them navigate their tasks and provide insights into legal practice.
Good Things about the Internship
- The work involves a mix of administrative tasks, legal research, drafting documents, and observing court proceedings. Tasks are assigned based on the intern’s role and level of experience.
- Precision and attention to detail are crucial, as interns are expected to handle legal documents and case files with care, ensuring accuracy in all aspects of their work.
Bad Things about the Internship
There is limited trust placed in interns by advocates and judges, which results in fewer learning opportunities for us.
Monthly Stipend
It was an unpaid internship.
