    About CTIL

    The Centre for Trade and Investment Law (CTIL) is a premier think tank established by the Ministry of Commerce and Industry, Government of India, and housed at the Indian Institute of Foreign Trade (IIFT), New Delhi.

    CTIL works towards strengthening India’s capacity in international trade and investment law by providing legal analysis and policy support to government agencies on WTO law, Free Trade Agreements (FTAs), bilateral investment treaties, and dispute settlement matters.

    About the Internship

    The CTIL Internship Programme offers law students an opportunity to gain practical exposure to international trade and investment law.

    Interns work closely on legal and policy research involving WTO agreements, trade negotiations, arbitration and investment disputes, digital trade, and sustainability-related clauses in international agreements.

    Interns may also assist in:

    • Drafting legal memos and research notes
    • Preparing case studies and analytical reports
    • Research on trade policy and dispute settlement
    • Supporting stakeholder consultations and discussions

    The internship is ideal for students interested in careers in international law, trade law, arbitration, and policy research.

    Eligibility

    • Students pursuing LL.B. or LL.M.
    • Preference may be given to candidates specialising in:
      • International Trade Law
      • WTO Law
      • International Investment Law
      • Commercial Arbitration

    Mode of Internship

    On-site internship involving research and drafting work related to arbitration and investment disputes.

    Location

    New Delhi.

    Stipend

    Interns may receive a stipend of up to Rs. 2,000. The amount may vary depending on the internship cycle and performance.
