    March 2026

I came to know about this internship opportunity at Shakti Foundation NGO through my seniors, who had previously been associated with the organization.

Based on their guidance and recommendation, I expressed my interest in the internship and was given the opportunity to be a part of the program.

The process was straightforward, and after a brief interaction with the coordinators, I was selected to participate in the internship. This experience highlights the importance of networking and guidance from seniors in exploring practical learning opportunities.

My first day at the Shakti Foundation NGO was both exciting and informative. I was introduced to the organization’s mission, which focuses on environmental protection and social welfare.

The coordinators welcomed me warmly and gave me an overview of the ongoing projects, especially the plantation initiatives. I also had the opportunity to interact with other interns, which made me feel comfortable and part of the team.

On the first day, I completed the basic formalities, including registration and submission of required documents. I was briefed about the rules, responsibilities, and code of conduct to be followed during the internship.

The supervisors explained the objectives of the internship and assigned roles based on our interests and capabilities.

During the internship, my primary work involved participating in plantation drives and environmental awareness activities. I assisted in organizing tree-planting events, interacted with the local community, and helped spread awareness about the importance of environmental conservation.

This hands-on experience allowed me to understand the practical challenges in implementing environmental initiatives. I was actively involved in conducting surveys and interviewing farmers to understand their perspectives on environmental practices, agriculture, and plantation initiatives.

This helped in gathering valuable grassroots-level data. In addition, I participated in plantation drives, assisted in organizing awareness campaigns, and contributed to community outreach programs.

These activities gave me practical exposure to environmental work and helped me understand the real challenges faced by rural communities.

The work environment was dynamic and field-oriented. It involved direct interaction with local communities, especially farmers, which made the experience more practical and impactful.

The team was cooperative and supportive, and there was a strong sense of purpose in all activities. Working in real-life conditions helped me step out of my comfort zone and develop adaptability and communication skills.

One of the best aspects of this internship was the opportunity to contribute to environmental protection in a meaningful way. It helped me develop a sense of social responsibility and teamwork.

The practical exposure and fieldwork made the learning experience more engaging and impactful. The supportive environment and guidance from the mentors were also very helpful.

While the internship was overall a great learning experience, there were some challenges. At times, resources and facilities were limited, which made certain tasks difficult to execute efficiently. Additionally, fieldwork could be physically demanding. However, these challenges helped me become more adaptable and resilient.

    This was an unpaid internship.

During the internship, my accommodation arrangements were convenient and suitable for the duration of the program. Staying in a location with reasonable access to the workplace made it easier to manage daily responsibilities effectively.

Commuting to the office and field locations was an important part of the experience. Travel was required not only to reach the office but also for fieldwork such as plantation drives, surveys, and interviews with farmers. This involved traveling to rural areas, which provided me with exposure to different environments and communities.

Although commuting at times was time-consuming and required adjustment to varying conditions, it contributed significantly to my overall learning experience. It helped me develop punctuality, time management skills, and adaptability while handling both travel and work responsibilities.

The internship also helped me connect my academic knowledge of environmental laws with practical implementation. I gained insight into legal frameworks related to environmental protection and realized the importance of community participation in achieving sustainable development goals.

This experience enhanced my sense of responsibility towards the environment and strengthened my commitment to contributing to legal and social initiatives that promote sustainability.
