About the Opportunity

National Law University Delhi (NLUD) invites applications for the position of Full-time Research Associate on a contractual basis for a project on Health and Digital Rights.
The project is funded under the Indian Council of Social Science Research (ICSSR) 2025–26 and focuses on evaluating the jurisprudential, socioeconomic, and statistical implications within Health, Law, and Technology.
The appointment is for an initial six-month period, with the possibility of a further six-month extension—making the total recruitment period up to 12 months—subject to performance and project requirements.

Responsibilities

The candidate will be expected to assist in research work in the interdisciplinary area of Law, Economics, and Technology and will work and report to the Project Director.
The candidate will ensure responsible research conduct in data collection, storage, and processing of data in alignment with the project requirements and guidelines.

Eligibility

  • MA/MSc/MPhil in Economics, Statistics, Public Policy, Data Sciences, or AI Studies from a recognized Indian or Foreign University with a good academic record.
  • OR Ph.D. (including those in the final phase of submission) in Economics, Statistics, Public Policy, AI, or Data Sciences.
  • Ability to do empirical analysis, policy review, legal search, and drafting of research outputs that inform law and technology debates.
  • Proficiency in English, both written and verbal.
  • Skilled in MS Office applications.

Desirable:

  • Background in Law, Public Policy, or Regulatory Studies is an advantage.
  • Prior experience on law-and-technology topics (privacy, competition, platform markets, fintech) or familiarity with legal research methods.
  • Experience producing policy briefs or working with non-academic stakeholders.
  • Knowledge of data visualization tools and reproducible workflows.

Remuneration:
Rs. 47,000/- per month (subject to TDS @ 10% under Section 194J of the Income Tax Act).
The salary will be funded out of the grants received from the ICSSR disbursed by National Law University Delhi.
