    The Centre for Business Laws (CBL), NUSRL, is a premier academic centre dedicated to deepening understanding of the legal frameworks governing commerce, innovation, entrepreneurship and modern regulatory practice.

    About the Symposium

    Convergence of Law & Economics 2.0: Bankruptcy, Startups & Beyond is a one-day symposium organised by CBL, NUSRL, focusing on the intersection of law and economics in contemporary markets.

    The event is designed to explore the evolving relationship between bankruptcy law, startup ecosystems, investment dynamics, and the broader regulatory environment shaping business and finance. It brings together legal practitioners, researchers, industry professionals and academicians for meaningful academic engagement.

      Theme: From Disputes to Damages: Claim Drafting in Commercial Arbitration
      Resource Person: Vikas Kumar Jha, Partner, CAM
      Focus on practical skills in arbitration claim drafting, structuring claims, and articulating damages.
    • Workshop:
      Theme: Transforming Credit Landscape: A Decade of IBC
      Resource Person: Mr. Kumar Kislay, Partner, JSA
      Covers evolution, key developments, and future trajectory of the Insolvency and Bankruptcy Code.
    • Paper Presentation:
      Theme: Transforming Credit Landscape: A Decade of IBC
      Includes sub-themes such as CIRP timelines, haircuts, borrower behaviour, cross-border insolvency, creditor primacy, etc.
      Selected authors will present their research at the symposium.

    Eligibility

    Students and research scholars enrolled in any UG/PG/PhD programme at any Indian university are eligible to participate. A maximum of two authors is allowed, and multiple entries from the same authors are not permitted.

    Submission Guidelines

    • Two-stage process: Abstract submission → Full paper submission.
    • Abstracts reviewed on relevance, originality, and quality.
    • Only selected authors will be invited for full paper submission.
    • Acceptance communicated as per timeline.
    • Only one author per accepted paper required to register.
    • Selected authors must present their papers at the symposium.
    • Presentations conducted in online mode.
    • Non-compliance with guidelines may lead to exclusion.

    Formatting Guidelines

    • Abstract:
      • Word limit: 450–500 words
      • Minimum 5 keywords required
      • Format: Garamond, 12 pt, 1.5 spacing, 1-inch margins
      • Must include research question, methodology, findings, and relevance
      • Submit in .doc/.docx and PDF formats
    • Full Paper:
      • Word limit: 5,000–7,000 words (excluding abstract & references)
      • Citation style: OSCOLA (4th Edition)
      • Same formatting as abstract
      • Original and unpublished work only
      • Similarity limit: 15%

    • Single Authorship: ₹500
    • Co-authorship (up to 2 authors): ₹400
    • Registration via QR code / link (shared after registration)
    • Payment to be made using the provided bank details

    Top 10 papers to be published in the inaugural edition of the Corporate Laws Blog, CBL. Certificate of Participation for all participants.
