About the Jindal Society of International Law Blog (JSIL Blog)

The JSIL Blog serves as a vital student-led space for interrogating the complexities of the modern international legal order. In 2026, we find ourselves at a crossroads where traditional legal doctrines are being tested by unprecedented global shifts. We invite contributors to move beyond “legalism” and engage with the visceral, often unsettling realities of power and justice.

Scope

The Blog calls for the relevant analytical pieces. They can be on the following lines:

  • The Crisis of Authority: How do international institutions maintain legitimacy when legal clarity coexists with immense human suffering?
  • New Frontiers of Warfare: What are the legal implications of AI, cyber-attacks, and digital surveillance on state responsibility?
  • Climate & Continuity: How is climate litigation redefining long-held assumptions about sovereignty and intergenerational equity?
  • Decolonizing the Global Order: Can the current system truly address historical injustices, or does it merely replicate colonial power structures?
  • Humanitarian Dilemmas: In the face of ongoing conflicts and sanctions, how can law be a site of protection rather than a tool of mobilization?

However, these ideas are merely indicative and not exhaustive.
