Mr. S. Chanda, learned counsel for the respondents Nos. 7 & 8, has
submitted that most of the original occupants have since left the vicinity,
and there are only few remaining.
Mr. S. Geonka, learned counsel for the respondent No. 6, submits
that 18(eighteen) number of the tenants of the said respondent, are still
residing in the area.
As there are doubts as to the exact number of persons residing in the
area, who will be entitled to raise temporary structures for shelter as
directed by this Court in the earlier occasion, and to avoid any future
confusion or creation of any vested right, it is directed that the C.E.O.
Cantonment Board, Shillong, shall ascertain the number of persons residing
in the area as on today, and the report be brought before the Court on the
next date.
