About the Programme

This programme aims to provide an enriching interdisciplinary platform for in-service faculty members, primarily Lecturers and Assistant Professors in Social Science disciplines, to engage deeply with the social and legal dimensions of Traditional Knowledge Systems (TKS) and Traditional Cultural Expressions (TCEs) in India.

The programme will cover a wide range of critical themes, including:

  • Legal frameworks for protection of Traditional Knowledge and Cultural Expressions
  • Challenges of Bio-Piracy, Misappropriation, and Enforcement Inefficiencies
  • Geographical Indications (GI) and the TKDL (Traditional Knowledge Digital Library)
  • Benefit-Sharing Mechanisms and Community Rights
  • Constitutional Rights of Tribal and Marginalized Communities
  • Innovative Legal Research and Teaching Methodologies

Eligibility

Lecturer / Assistant Professor in a UGC-recognised Indian University / Deemed University / College / Institute of National Importance or ICSSR Research / Recognised Institute. Application must be duly forwarded by the parent institution.

  • Duration: 12 days (May 04–16, 2026)
  • Mode: Offline only
  • Venue: Video Conference Room, Madhu Limaye Library, RMLNLU, Lucknow
  • No Registration Fee
  • Travel Allowance and Accommodation provided to outstation participants (as per ICSSR TCB Guidelines)
  • Certificates awarded to participants securing 50% or above in the concluding written test
  • Total 30 seats (10 local | 10 within state | 10 outside state)
  • Selection on first-cum-first-serve basis
