    About the Competition

The Client Counselling Competition is designed to provide participants with an opportunity to experience a simulated lawyer-client interaction. It focuses on developing essential lawyering skills that go beyond courtroom advocacy.

In this competition, participants will assume the role of legal counsels and interact with a client to understand their concerns, identify legal issues, and provide suitable advice. The competition evaluates not only legal knowledge but also the ability to communicate effectively, build trust, and demonstrate professional ethics.

    Eligibility

The competition is open to students enrolled in three-year or five-year law degree courses from any recognized university, law school, or institution. Participation is encouraged from students who are keen to develop practical legal skills and gain exposure to real-life legal scenarios.

    Team Composition

Each team shall consist of two members, both of whom will act as counsels during the counselling session. The collaborative effort of both members will be assessed, including their coordination, communication, and ability to collectively address the client’s concerns.

    Theme

The problem proposition for the Client Counselling Competition shall be based on contemporary legal issues, requiring participants to analyse real-life situations and provide practical legal advice.
