I applied by sending a formal application, along with my CV and a cover letter, to the firm’s Managing Partner, Mr. Neeraj Dubey.

First-Day Formalities, Infrastructure, and First Impression

As it was an online internship, the first-day formalities were conducted via a virtual introductory meeting and email orientation. I was added to the firm’s communication channels and briefed on the reporting structure.

My first impression was that the firm is highly organized and values the virtual intern model. Despite being remote, the team felt very accessible and professional.

Main Tasks

During my tenure, I primarily assisted the corporate team with legal research and drafting. My tasks included researching various provisions of the Companies Act, 2013, and the Digital Personal Data Protection Act.

I drafted initial versions of commercial contracts, including non-disclosure agreements (NDAs) and service agreements. Additionally, I prepared research memos on regulatory compliance for startups and emerging businesses.

I also had the opportunity to proofread due diligence reports and track the latest updates from the Ministry of Corporate Affairs (MCA) to assist with ongoing advisory matters.

Work Environment

The work environment was professional, structured, and surprisingly collaborative for a remote setup. Communication occurred through emails and scheduled video calls, which ensured that expectations were clear.

The firm follows a “results-oriented” approach, giving interns the autonomy to manage their research while providing necessary guidance.

Even though I wasn’t physically in the Bengaluru office, the team made an effort to include me in discussions, making the experience feel like a genuine part of a new-generation boutique law firm.

Good Things about the Internship

The best part of this internship was the direct exposure to high-quality corporate advisory work.

Since the firm caters to startups, the tasks were diverse and fast-paced. I appreciated the constructive feedback I received on my drafting and research, which helped me understand the difference between academic and practical legal writing.

The flexibility of the online mode allowed me to focus on my research deeply without the stress of a commute, while still gaining insights into how a boutique firm manages complex client needs across India.

Bad Things about the Internship

The primary drawback was the lack of face-to-face interaction and the opportunity to observe real-time client meetings or courtroom proceedings, which are limited in a virtual setup.

Additionally, remote work requires a high degree of self-motivation, as you miss out on the spontaneous learning that occurs in a physical office environment.

This internship taught me the importance of clear communication in a professional setting. To stay productive, I treated my home setup like a real office, adhering to a strict 9-to-6 schedule. It was a great lesson in time management.
