RBI Summer Internship Programme (Stipend of Rs. 20k+TA)

About the RBI Summer Internship

The RBI Summer Internship Programme is designed to provide exposure to central banking, financial regulation, and policy research. Law students benefit from working on issues related to banking law, financial regulation, and statutory compliance.

The Reserve Bank of India (RBI) invites applications every year for its highly prestigious RBI Summer Internship Placement Programme 2025–2026.

Eligibility Criteria

  • Students pursuing:
    • Postgraduate courses
    • Integrated five-year courses in Management / Statistics / Law / Commerce / Economics / Econometrics / Banking / Finance
    • Three-year full-time professional bachelor’s degree in Law from reputed institutions/colleges in India
  • Only students currently in the penultimate year of their course are eligible to apply

Stipend

  • ₹20,000 per month
  • Travel allowance for outstation candidates

Application Process

Selections are conducted twice a year, depending on RBI’s requirements, with internships commencing from 1st January or 1st July.

  • For internships starting 1st January:
    Applications are accepted from July to November of the previous year and examined in December
  • For internships starting 1st July:
    Applications are accepted from January to May and examined in June

Applications are valid only for the applied batch (1st January / 1st July) and will not be considered for subsequent batches. Candidates who are not selected must apply afresh for the next cycle.

Candidates are shortlisted based on their CV, references, and Statement of Purpose, followed by a personal interview.

Applicants are required to submit their CV, references, Statement of Purpose, and duly filled application form through the RBI internship portal.

Incomplete applications or those without the required documents are liable to be rejected. References may be obtained from faculty members of the applicant’s institution.
