About Prayas
Prayas is a field action project of the Centre for Criminology and Justice, School of Social Work, initiated in 1990. It is a response to the needs of disadvantaged groups being processed by the Criminal Justice System. It aims at socio-legal and economic rehabilitation of persons who are at risk of being criminalized, exploited for commercial sex, and those in destitute states.
Eligibility
- LLB Degree
- Sanad for practicing in Maharashtra
- Knowledge of computer skills. /Ability- read, write and speak in Marathi, English Hindi.
- Familiarity with the use of MS-Office, emails and the internet.
- Preference may be given to lawyers with 2-3 years of legal practice.
- Ability to work effectively in teams as well as independently.
- During contract period, Fellow shall not take up any other employment without the prior permission of the employer.
- Age limit: Below 35 Years as on 31st March, 2026.
Duration
Not exceeding one year (Extendable subject to satisfactory performance and requirement) or fulfilment of the post whichever is earlier.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Good ability in written English (and preferably Marathi and Hindi)
- Ability to work effectively in teams as well as independently
- Familiarity with the use of MS-Office, emails and the internet.
- Willingness to travel in Mumbai, Thane, and Raigad District, and outside districts and States when necessary

Application Fee
The application fee of Rs. 500/- be paid online. The application fee for SC/ST/PWD candidates will be Rs. 125/- if they attach the required certificate to the online application form. The women applicants are waived from payment of application fees. The application will be valid only on receipt of the application fee, if applicable. Fees once paid, shall not be refunded under any circumstances.
Deadline

Salary
Rs. 30,000/- per month (Including field work allowance).
