1st STL National Article Writing Competition 2026 by NLUJAA

About the Event

The Society for Technology & Law (STL), NLUJAA is pleased to announce the 1st STL National Article Writing Competition, 2026, aimed at fostering academic research, analytical thinking, and meaningful engagement among students on issues at the intersection of law and technology.

In today’s rapidly evolving digital landscape, technology significantly shapes key areas of law including constitutional rights, commercial regulation, criminal justice, privacy, and access to justice. The competition seeks to encourage students to critically engage with these developments and contribute to evolving legal discourse.

Themes

Participants are encouraged to engage with contemporary issues at the intersection of law and technology. Indicative themes include:

  • Artificial Intelligence and Law
  • Data Protection, Privacy, and Surveillance
  • Platform Governance and Digital Intermediaries
  • Intellectual Property in the Digital Ecosystem
  • Technology and Constitutional Law
  • Emerging Technologies and Legal Futures
  • Digital Economy and FinTech Regulation

Eligibility

The competition is open to all students currently enrolled in undergraduate or postgraduate law programmes at any recognised university or institution in India.

How to Register?

Interested candidates can register and submit entries via the link given at the end of the post.

Registration Fee

  • ₹300 for single-authored submissions
  • ₹500 for co-authored submissions

Prizes

The competition offers cash prizes up to ₹18,000:

  • 1st Prize: ₹10,000
  • 2nd Prize: ₹5,000
  • 3rd Prize: ₹3,000

Additional Benefits:

  • Top 10 entries will be published in an edited volume
  • Top 3 winners will receive a physical copy of the book
  • Certificates of Merit for top 10 participants
  • Certificates of Participation for all valid submissions

Important Dates

  • Registration Deadline: 10th May 2026
  • Submission Deadline: 15th May 2026
  • Result Declaration: Last week of May 2026 (Tentative)
