About the Seminar

In the context of India’s ongoing demographic transition marked by a rapidly growing elderly population, the seminar seeks to foreground the legal dimensions of ageing through the lens of geriatric jurisprudence.

Moving beyond a welfare-centric discourse, the seminar emphasises a rights-based paradigm rooted in constitutional values, aimed at safeguarding the dignity, autonomy, and well-being of senior citizens.

It aspires to critically examine existing legal frameworks, identify systemic lacunae, and foster interdisciplinary dialogue for progressive legal and policy reform.
