What was once a calm state capital is now emerging as a major investment hotspot. Locals often joke that every day brings a new road, and with it, a new town its dynamics evolving faster than the blink of an eye. But with rapid growth comes responsibility. Across India, cities have paid the price for neglecting their water bodies losing them to development, only to battle floods later. Gandhinagar is choosing a different path by addressing these challenges from the very beginning. Under the #BlueGreenGandhinagar initiative, E.F.I., in collaboration with the Gandhinagar Municipal Corporation, is restoring multiple water bodies across the city ensuring that growth remains water-positive and sustainable.

Just 5 km from the city lies Pethapur, an agrarian village surrounded by farmlands. Here, two vital water bodies have been taken up for restoration Pethapur Pond 208 and 254, strengthening both ecological balance and community resilience. Explore the transformation of Pethapur Pond (Survey No. 254).
