About the Organization
Rajiv Gandhi National University of Law (RGNUL), Punjab, was established by the State Legislature of Punjab through the Rajiv Gandhi National University of Law, Punjab Act, 2006.
The University was created as a national level centre of excellence in legal education in response to the growing demand for advanced legal studies in an era of globalisation and liberalisation. RGNUL received approval from the Bar Council of India in July 2006 and is registered with the University Grants Commission under Section 2(f) of the UGC Act, 1956.
The University has also been declared fit to receive grants under Section 12-B of the UGC Act and has been accredited with an ‘A’ grade by NAAC. Over the years, RGNUL has emerged as one of the leading law universities in India, offering integrated undergraduate programmes, LL.M., and Ph.D. programmes while promoting high quality research and academic engagement.
About the Conference
Rajiv Gandhi National University of Law, Punjab, through its Centre for Advanced Studies in Human Rights (CASIHR) and Centre for Advanced Studies in Labour Welfare (CASLW), in collaboration with the Department of Law, Punjabi University, Patiala, is organising an International Conference on “Human Rights & Fundamental Rights: Past, Present and Future” on 24 March 2026 in hybrid mode.
The conference seeks to provide an interdisciplinary platform for academicians, practitioners, policymakers, researchers and students to discuss the evolution of human rights and fundamental rights, analyse contemporary challenges, and explore future frameworks for the protection of rights in a rapidly changing global environment.
About Call for Papers
The Organising Committee invites original and unpublished research papers, articles and case comments from academicians, researchers, practitioners and students.
The submissions should critically engage with the theme of the conference and may adopt doctrinal, comparative, empirical or interdisciplinary approaches relating to human rights and fundamental rights.

- Abstract length: 250–300 words (maximum 4 keywords)
- Full paper word limit: Maximum 5000 words
- Co-authorship permitted up to two authors
- Language: English only
- Plagiarism limit: 10% (excluding footnotes and bibliography)

Registration Process
Participants whose abstracts are accepted shall be required to complete the registration by making payment of the registration fee through the mode specified by the organisers. Registration shall be confirmed upon receipt of payment.

All submissions must be made electronically in MS Word format through the submission links circulated by the Organising Committee. Separate links have been provided for abstract and full paper submissions.
