CIPAM has launched “Orange Minds,” a lecture series aimed at strengthening awareness and understanding of Intellectual Property Rights (IPR) among students and young innovators. Inspired by the concept of the Orange Economy driven by creativity, culture, innovation, and intellectual property the initiative seeks to encourage students to recognize the importance of protecting their ideas and transforming them into valuable assets that contribute to innovation-led growth and national development.

The first phase of the lecture series will commence on 16 March 2026 and will feature six sessions scheduled during March–April at leading academic institutions in Delhi, including Campus Law Centre, University of Delhi, National Institute of Fashion Technology (NIFT), and National Law University Delhi. The series brings together distinguished speakers from the legal fraternity, industry, and the creative sector to discuss contemporary issues in intellectual property and its practical implications across different industries.

The sessions will cover diverse themes such as intellectual property enforcement, fashion law and design protection, copyright protection in the digital music industry, anti-counterfeiting strategies adopted by brands, commercialization of creative designs, and the regulation of environmental or “green” claims at the intersection of advertising law, consumer protection, and intellectual property. The lecture series will feature eminent experts including Shwetasree Majumder of Fidus Law Chambers and Anuj Bedi of PUMA Sports India Pvt Ltd; Safir Anand of Anand & Anand along with designers Rahul Misra and Shantanu Nikhil; Ameet Datta of Saikrishna & Associates and Blaise Fernandes of the Indian Music Industry; M. S. Bharath of Kria Law and Gagan Rajpurohit of Hindustan Unilever Limited; Ameet Naik of Naik Naik & Co with Sumeet Kumar Jarangal from the Startup India initiative; and Ranjan Narula of RNA Technology and IP Attorneys with Manisha Kapoor of the Advertising Standards Council of India.

By bringing together experts from diverse sectors, the “Orange Minds” lecture series aims to bridge the gap between academia, industry, and legal practice, while equipping students with knowledge about the strategic importance of intellectual property in fostering creativity, protecting innovation, and supporting India’s transition towards a knowledge-driven and innovation-led economy.
