Government Schemes for Entrepreneurs
The government is constantly working to strengthen the foundation of our country. One of the initiatives led by the Modi government is to support new businesses and startups. The government also prioritizes the empowerment of women entrepreneurs by providing necessary resources and opportunities. Women from rural and disadvantaged backgrounds gain visibility through their hard work and government support. These steps are a part of the larger goal of “Sabka Saath, Sabka Vikas, Sabka Vishwas, Sabka Prayas.”
There are multiple ways that the government is facilitating new Entrepreneurs and start-ups to start and establish their businesses. With every step taken, the government aims to achieve the “Aatmanirbhar Bharat.” Aspiring entrepreneurs have multiple ways to achieve their dreams. Hence, the government envisions enabling India’s talent to implement fresh new ideas by providing them with the necessary resources. As a result, India ranks third in the world’s startups list.
Apart from businesses and small entrepreneurs, start-ups are one of the most facilitated schemes launched by the government. The Startup India Initiatives and The Startup India Seed Fund are two significant schemes started by the PM with a huge budget allocated. On fulfilling some eligible criteria and having recognition from the DPIIT, the startups are eligible for grants and subsidies. These entrepreneurs can also avail of facilities like tax exemptions, cost reduction, access to funds, self-certification, fast-track registration of patents, and an easy option to wind up business under 90 days.
The government also aims to empower women entrepreneurs by providing specialized benefits and schemes to promote women’s entrepreneurship. Apart from the Mudra Yojna, Stree Shakti Yojna, Dena Shakti Yojna, Bharatiya Mahila Bank Business Loan, and Mahila Udyam Nidhi Yojna are some schemes that aim at aiding women entrepreneurs by giving them affordable loans without collaterals.
Small businesses, agricultural businesses, and small farms are typical small-scale rural enterprises that the government eases with incentives and subsidies. Along with this, rural khadi industries also benefit from the Market Promotion and Development Scheme, Revamped Scheme of Fund for Regeneration of Traditional Industries, Coir Vikas Yojna, Export Market Promotion, and Domestic Market Promotion are some schemes provided by the center.
In India, numerous government initiatives promote innovation, technology, rural industries, and entrepreneurship. Some are:
