About the 5th Legal Drafting Competition 2026
The 5th Legal Drafting Competition 2026, organized by Canonsphere, is a prestigious virtual event crafted to
enhance the legal drafting skills of budding lawyers.
Centered around the theme ˮCyber Fraud: From Phishing to Courtˮ, this competition challenges participants to draft the required legal pleadings based on a fictional legal scenario.
It aims to test the participantsʼ understanding of IT Law and Criminal law, as well as their ability to apply procedural rules and draft a clear, structured, and persuasive legal document. This competition is an excellent opportunity for students to engage with critical legal issues while refining a fundamental skill of legal practice.
About the Theme
The theme focuses on cyber fraud in digital banking and the legal remedies available to affected consumers. Participants are required to analyse issues relating to bank liability, consumer protection, cybercrime investigation, and procedural lapses while drafting appropriate legal pleadings.
The problem invites participants to critically examine the liability of banks, the rights of consumers, and the obligations of law enforcement agencies in cases of cyber fraud.
Through this theme, the competition seeks to enhance practical drafting skills while sensitising future legal professionals to issues of digital vulnerability, institutional accountability, and access to justice in the technology driven era.
