National Law University Delhi successfully hosted the 11th Edition of Jurist Speaks: Eminent Scholars Lecture Series, an initiative of the Chair on Professional Ethics and IQAC.
We were honoured to welcome Dr. Vikas Divyakirti, Founder & Managing Director of Drishti IAS, who delivered an insightful lecture on “Beyond Achievement: How Values Shape True Success and Happiness – Building Lives of Meaning, not just Milestones.”
Through engaging stories of poets, great thinkers, philosophers, and influential personalities, he encouraged students to look beyond conventional meanings of happiness and success, reflecting on how these ideas evolve for individuals in a rapidly changing world. He also emphasised the concept of “Swa”—understanding oneself while remaining mindful of the larger social context and our responsibilities towards others.
Highlighting the growing complexity of the 21st century, he noted that the meaning of success and happiness is deeply personal and constantly evolving, urging the audience to pursue lives guided not only by milestones, but by values, purpose, and a broader vision for society.
The session concluded with an engaging interaction with students and faculty, leaving the audience with thoughtful reflections on what it truly means to live a meaningful life.
