Dr. Rajendra Prasad National Law University (RPNLU), Prayagraj organized an International Colloquium on the theme “Legal Systems in Transition: Global Responses to the Digital Revolution”, bringing together eminent academicians, legal scholars, policymakers, and professionals from India and abroad. The colloquium focused on examining the evolving relationship between law, technology, and governance in an increasingly digitalized world and addressed contemporary legal challenges emerging from rapid technological transformation.

First Technical Session Focuses on AI and Emerging Technologies
The first technical session, conducted in online mode, featured distinguished international experts including Professor Robert Burrell, Faculty of Law, University of Oxford, London; Professor Shubha Ghosh, Syracuse University College of Law, New York, USA; Dr. Robert Russo, Peter A. Allard School of Law, University of British Columbia, Vancouver; and Dr. Nanxiang Sun, Institute of International Law, China.
The speakers examined the growing relevance of artificial intelligence and emerging technologies within legal systems. They emphasized the need for adaptive regulatory frameworks, ethical governance, and institutional preparedness to address the complexities arising from digital transformation and technological advancements.
Second Technical Session Discusses Cyber Law and Digital Governance
The second technical session, conducted in physical mode at the Academic Block of the University, featured prominent legal scholars including Professor Bijay Prasad Mishra, Faculty of Law, Tribhuvan University, Nepal; Professor Atul Kumar Pandey, Professor of Cyber Law, National Law Institute University, Bhopal; and Professor Pradeep Kulsheshtra, Dean, Bennett School of Law, Greater Noida.
The discussions focused on cyber law, digital governance, and the preparedness of legal institutions in dealing with technological disruption. The speakers underscored the evolving responsibilities of legal systems in safeguarding digital rights, ensuring accountability, and facilitating responsible innovation in a rapidly changing technological landscape.
Third Technical Session Highlights Cybersecurity and Data Protection
The third technical session, also conducted in physical mode, focused on the growing importance of cybersecurity law and policy frameworks. The session featured Dr. Gulshan Rai, Former Cyber Security Advisor to the Prime Minister’s Office, New Delhi; Dr. Brajesh Sharma, Assistant Professor of Law, PUSSG Regional Centre, Hoshiarpur; and Dr. Parikshit Sirohi, Assistant Professor of Law, University of Delhi.
The speakers reflected on the transformative impact of the digital revolution on governance and legal structures and highlighted the increasing importance of cybersecurity law, data protection, and responsive regulatory frameworks capable of balancing innovation with public interest.
