This Criminal Petition, under Sections 480 and 483 of the BNSS, has
been filed by the Petitioner herein/Accused No.2, seeking regular bail, in
Crime No.64 of 2023 on the file of Mothugudem Police Station,
Allurisitaramaraju District, registered for the offences punishable under
Section 8 (c) r/w 20(b)(ii) (C) of Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances
Act (for short “NDPS Act”).
2. The case of the prosecution in brief, is that, on 18.12.2023, at about
10.00 AM., the Inspector of Police, his staff and mediators while conducting
vehicle checking at Lakkavaram Junction, Chinturu Mandal, notice A1 to A5,
among them, they apprehended A1, A3 to A5 and on search found 30 Kgs of
Ganja and seized the same from their possession under the cover of
mediators’ report. The petitioner/Accused No.2 managed to escape from the
spot and subsequently, during the course of investigation the police arrested
him on 24.08.2025 and since then, he has been in jail.
