World Day of Social Justice (20th February, 2026)

On the occasion of World Day of Social Justice, celebrated globally on February 20, 2026, Hon’ble Vice Chancellor, NLUD Prof. (Dr.) G. S. Bajpai announced the establishment of a Chair on Social Justice at NLUD. At the commemorative event, the Hon’ble Minister of State for Social Justice and Empowerment, Shri B.L. Verma highlighted his commitment to building a meaningful partnership between the University and his Ministry.

NLUD is currently finalising an MOU with the National Institute for Social Defence, an autonomous body under the Ministry, to initiate its first project under the aegis of this Chair. The project is aimed at institutional assessment and capacity building in the fields of drug abuse prevention, welfare of senior citizens and transgenders, and beggary prevention.
