Tell us about the infrastructure of your law college
The infrastructure of my law college is quite well planned and maintained better than most NLUs. The classrooms are spacious, organized, and comfortable enough for long lectures. There is a large central library with a good collection of academic resources, which students regularly use for coursework, research, and exam preparation.
The girls’ hostel facilities are well managed, with options ranging from single to triple-sharing AC rooms. The rooms are spacious, clean, and have attached washrooms, which makes daily living convenient. There is no on-campus hostel for boys, but accommodation is easily available nearby.
The college also has a variety of sports and recreational facilities, which help students maintain a healthy balance between academics and campus life.
Rating: 4.5/5
How are the academic culture and faculty in your college?
The academic culture is quite structured and disciplined, which really helps in building consistency over time. For most subjects, we have two faculty members, with the course divided between them.
This works well because it gives students a deeper understanding of the subject and exposure to different perspectives.
The faculty members are highly qualified and very supportive. They go beyond just teaching the syllabus and actively guide students in areas like moot courts, paper presentations, research work, and other academic interests. You can approach them for advice, and they are genuinely willing to help.
Attendance is on the stricter side, with an 85% requirement. While it can feel demanding, it also pushes students to be more disciplined, which is good in the long run.
Class timings vary by batches—first and second years usually have afternoon classes, while third, fourth, and fifth years mostly follow a morning schedule.
Overall, the academic culture and faculty strike a good balance between discipline and support.
Rating: 4/5
How’s the peer quality in your college? Rate it on a scale of 5 with 1 being the lowest and 5 being the highest.
The peer quality in my college is generally good and competitive in a healthy way. Most students are motivated, academically focused, and supportive, which creates an environment that pushes you to improve and do better. There is a fair amount of collaboration, especially when it comes to moots, academics, and other activities.
That said, like any competitive academic setting, not everyone is the same. There are a few instances of unhealthy competition or toxic behavior, but they do not define the overall culture. Over time, students usually find their own circle of supportive peers.
Rating: 3.5/5
Tell us about the co-curricular and extra-curricular activities
There is a wide range of co-curricular and extra-curricular activities through various clubs, societies, and committees. Many of these committees are quite innovative and offer good exposure.
However, the selection process can sometimes feel uneven, and unless you are in touch with seniors, it may be difficult to get into some of the more active committees.
Fest culture is definitely a strong point of the college. There is a dedicated committee that handles cultural events and fests, which are usually well organized and lively.
The annual fest, Ashvamedh, is a major highlight and has hosted artists like Jassie Gill, Anuv Jain, and Twin Strings, adding a lot to campus life.
Overall, the co-curricular environment is engaging, but students do need to be proactive and socially involved to make the most of it.
Rating: 4/5
How are the placements in your college?
The placement scenario at my college is moderate. Some students do get placed with top-tier law firms and corporate organizations, especially those who have built strong internship profiles.
The Campus Placement Cell provides support, but many students ultimately secure jobs by converting their internships into pre-placement offers through individual effort.
Rating: 3.5/5
How are the hostels in your college?
The hostel facilities at the college are fairly well managed. Overall, there are four hostels catering to different departments. For law students, there is a newly constructed girls’ hostel, while most boys usually stay nearby in PGs or flats.
Cleanliness is maintained well, with regular staff ensuring the hostels remain neat and hygienic. In terms of facilities, the hostels offer a gym, a night canteen, and vending machines, which are especially helpful.
While availability can sometimes be limited due to high demand, the overall living conditions are comfortable and functional.
Rating: 4/5
What are the best things you like about your college?
In your opinion, what are bad things about your college?
One of the main drawbacks is the lack of on-campus hostel accommodation for male law students, which can make finding suitable housing more challenging. The attendance policy is quite strict, which can sometimes add pressure, especially during internships or moot preparations.
Additionally, the campus canteen is relatively expensive, even for basic items. Another inconvenience is the absence of a regular pharmacy or daily needs store on campus, which means students often have to step outside the campus even for basic essentials.
Anything else you want to share?
One thing that really helps is staying in touch with seniors and faculty members; it makes navigating college opportunities much easier. Also, being proactive is key.
Whether it’s moots, internships, or other activities, actively looking for opportunities and putting yourself out there makes a big difference in the long run.
How would you rate your college overall on a scale of 10?
9/10
