Draft Article 313A was not present in the Draft Constitution and was introduced in the Constituent Assembly by a Drafting Committee Member on 17 October 1949.
The Draft Article declared that the Constitution that the Assembly would adopt around a week later on 26 November 1949 would be called the “Constitution of India”.
The Draft Article did not generate any discussion in the Constituent Assembly and was adopted as part of the Constitution on 17 October 1949.
